We've been pounded the last two days by thunder storms, heavy rain whipped by winds, and even hail. Some ornamental gardens have taken a hit.
These two blossoms, protected by a wall are unscathed -- thank goodness.
Here they are this morning as things calmed down.

So sorry to hear about your weather Pierre, storms certainly cause havoc with the gardens.

Thanks a lot Sylvia. We flower fans have to stick together.
Would you believe a couple hours after I shot these, we had another hour-long deluge.

These are just beautiful Pierre!
Is it common to have storms this time of year?
I know there has been crazy weather patterns all over, glad these flowers survived, and they are so lovely!!

Apparently we, in Ontario and Quebec, are currently experiencing a Summer version of last Winter's Polar Vortex. Eastern and Western Canada are having heat that average about 10 degrees C above normal, whereas, we in the central part are getting temperatures 10 degrees C below normal. Up to now gardens have been flourishing but too much rain can cause problems.

Here's a concern. We normally don't get many dragon flies here, but I haven't seen even one in the last week. Hopefully all this cool weather (nights going down to 50 F) and buckets of rain will not be a problem for them.

Thanks Gregory.
I wish we could send some of rain down to the people who need it. Getting out of the house to shoot is not easy these days -- walking, or, driving.

gorgeous shots in every way pierre! i'm partial to the wispy and wonderful cosmo...i plant them every year :-P
Beautiful, shots, Pierre, and I'm glad these beauties survived the ravages of your climate.
We could use some rain here, but not desperate for it, as we usually are this time of year. The grass is green, not burned out and brown. Having a very odd July--it's usually miserably hot and horribly humid, heat wave following heat wave.
This year, not a single heat wave. A ninety degree day or two, but that's it. And the dewpoints have only been in the seventies a few times, not the entire month, which is more normal. You can actually sleep at night, instead of tossing and turning because it's so sticky.
Whatever it is, I like it!
