I would like to make a DVD of about 80 shots with a 5 second pause for viewing with music. Can anyone recommend a lab. Tried Costco here in my town and they said that they cannot do this. Thanks for your input. Shots are in lightroom ready to go.

Why don't you do this yourself? There is a lot of software that will do what you want. You probably have some already and don't realize it. Do a search for slideshow software. Maybe someone can recommend some.

Lightroom 5 can do it in the SLIDESHOW option. You choose the pictures, name the file, import the music and set the pace. If the music is too short for the 5 second rotation, it will start playing over again. You export it to a DVD and it is all done. I've done several for myself and for friends. Fun feature of lightroom.

Will give it a try. Thanks

I have never done a slide show in Light room so I was hoping to find a lab until I can get some one to help me with this. Not a computer person so to speak. Know enough about Light Room to do simply things. Will see where this goes. Again thanks.

If you have Windows, you have Windows DVD Maker. Simple to use--time slides, add music change display--and it will not degrade your photos as some other software does.

Picasa (from Google) will do this, too. Plenty of tutorials online. Then just burn your file to a DVD.

If you have Windows 8 it came with windows movie maker. It's a simple slideshow maker you can add music to. Real easy to figure out.

If you have a DVD writer/drive in your computer (most newer ones do) you can make the DVD yourself. Just drag and burn the photos to the DVD. Do not put them in a file folder if you plan to use a DVD player attached to a TV. Most don't recognize folders. Generally, photo developers can do the same thing. You probably confused the most likely already confused employee by asking for a slideshow. That has nothing to do with the DVD. A slideshow and it's time intervals is a product of whatever playback software is on your computer. A DVD player attached to a TV will likely have a slideshow feature but you have to go with whatever options it came with as far as time intervals. On some TV's you can just put your photos on a memory stick and plug it directly into the TV's USB port for playback. Again, using whatever playback options it already has. This all works for simple playback. For music you will need to use a program, such as those already mentioned by other posters, to make what is essentially a video of your photos. That file would then be burned to a DVD for playback by any player that recognizes that particular type of file.

I make these myself but in the last few years I've turned the slide-shows into videos that I can watch on my television. With the high-definition we now have available there is not a serious loss of image quality and there are compensating advantages. I particularly enjoy watching reminders of vacations past.

The advantage of videos over a simple slide show is that you can zoom into photos and pan around them, making the show much more active than a simple slide show can be. Other special effects are available but to me that is the really big advantage. I posted a short example a while back but the UHH management asked me not to post videos and they removed it from the site.

After trying several other programs, I've settled on using Corel's Video Studio. It's got some shortcomings but it's inexpensive and pretty fully featured.

You've received some great options for software that may already be available to you. For myself, I think the best DVD slideshow software is the ProShow line form Photodex. You can purchase ProShow Gold for @$70.00 and ProShow Producer for about $250.00. Yes, they will be more expensive than the built-in movie makers, but you will be able to produce your own professional quality movies/DVDs.

Just something else to keep in mind.
