Why do you post links, If you got nuthin' to say?

I just love folks who post a link and don't say anything about what it means to them.
Oh, just hang a naked link out there, and hope folks think you are so wise that they should just check it out!
You know, some intelligent explanation about why others on this forum should think it would be worth their time to click on it would be, well, intelligent.
If you can't sell why the link is germane, then, why should we even look? If you got nuthin' to say ... then don't say anything. Just a thought...

On the other hand, maybe it is meant to dangle on its own rather than steering your opinion before you have had a chance to look at it and make your own decisions.
For me at least, if I am curious, I ask, but that's me.

I sometimes will make such a post, generally if I don't comment the title tells you something about the link. When I make such a post it is generally because the linked article is so clear that my opinion or summation would only detract from the linked piece. But you are probably right, a one or two sentence introducing the article is probably more appropriate.
