Hello ~ I am new and I have a 'lot' of questions so I hope you all have a 'lot' of answers!
In November I took a photography class and the class instructor suggested that I view/participate in photography forums to help me make my 'good' photos 'great' photos. I am still using a digital camera (Kodak Easy Share Max) It is a nice camera, but it is not a DSLR. At this time, I do not have the money to purchase a better camera ( I was laid off in the fall). However, I am still going forward and hopefully I will soon be able to purchase a better camera. So anyway, I will attach a few photos that I took within the last few months and I would appreciate feedback.
I edited two of the photos with effects from photoshop...
Thanks for listening!

Hummingbird in the fall
Welcome!
I am not a pro. but I can tell you what I think. In the first two the color is off. The deer is green and the baby red. That said it could be my monitor. In my opinion the humming bird is the best of the three, though I would like to see the background lightened up a bit so the bird shows up more.
My advice is to read the posts on this forum. Ask a lot of questions and post what you think are your best photos and ask for critique. Then go out and reshoot to the suggestions you get.
There are a lot of really good photographers on this forum that are willing to help. You will be amazed at what you will learn in just a few short weeks.
By the way your nieces little boy is adorable.
Thanks for your quick input. Unless I am mistaken by what you mean, I think your monitor might be off as you suggested...because I can't see what you are seeing (about the red and green coloring) and I will try to lighten the bush behind the hummingbird. But being new to this, I might not really understand what you mean by the colors being off...hopefully I will learn as I get more comments. G.

Welcome to the forum. I am not a pro though I just love your hummingbird and deer photos. How close were you to that deer? Look forward to seeing more of your work.

Welcome to UHH. Great shots.
Agree with Country Mama...Have fun and keep on shooting. After a few thousand photos you yourself will be able to critique your own as well as photos of others. We are all students and will be forever...there is always something new to learn.

Welcome!!!! this is a great place to learn, wondering is you could post originals, you have a good eye, but some coloring does seem a bit off, be careful with photo editing....little bit goes a long way...keep posting!!!! off to a good start!!!
Welcome, great Hummingbird image. How long have you had your camera? Don't worry about not having a dslr. You can get some very nice photos with your camera. Get to know each and every feature it has and you will see what I mean. Then you won't need so much post processing to "fix" anything. Post some more photos, straight from the camera and see what they look like. But don't get discouraged, we've all been there.

welcome, glad your here. Colors off a little for me but they are good pictures. A better camera may help, but the picture is what counts, get good with what you have and have fun you will get better. read what said here to others and use that to help yours
Thank you - I was on the road and the fawn was up on the bank - maybe about 15 -20 feet...I can't believe it didn't run...young, I guess.
Good tools are half the job...I`ve been told. You take the photo not the camera but quality equipment can`t hurt.
I have had my Kodax Max (Z990) a little less than a year. Is there any place I can go that will help me learn the features faster?
