Simplistic, if we ruin our economy and the real polluters like China and Russia become the ones who call the shots. They will take over. We will then have to operate under their system and become polluters.

at one time or another, every society has dropped the ball on pollution, even us. the one thing he and others leave out is, what if GCC is natural and there is nothing we can do to stem it's effects . between pollution and GCC down the road, we can only guess at the results. the day may come when our neighbors look at earth and say " that use to be a nice place to live on". they may be saying that already.

I agree with the analysis. The only problem is with the oversimplification involved in "what do we do in column A". And therein lies the rub. What I would do in column A is almost certainly different in style and scale from what Al Gore or dljen would do. And, frankly, that is a much harder question to answer than the one of "something" or "nothing."
