Does anyone know if there is an app that will allow you to tether your camera to an ipad instead of your laptop?

Not exactly tethering, but a CamRanger is pretty amazing and it's wireless up to about 150'. I have used it up to 60'. It cost about $300.00. Review it before you purchase it. I happen to like it and I know several pros who like it as well. Good luck.

Will Camranger work with an original iPad (or iPad Classic, as I call it) or does it need a newer version of iOS? I can look it up but just being lazy and hoping you know the answer. :?

I use CamRanger with my iPhone4 or iPad2. It is GREAT, a little pricey but worth it. You done load the aps for free from the App Store then order the CamRanger. The apps don't work without the device. The only adjustment you cannot make is to mine the camera. I hear there is a device to do that if you need.

Check out this for compatability to your camera.

Don't forget to look at Capture One Pro 7 also. It has a bunch of tethering options too. (Both are Phase One products.)

*(I think they use Cam Ranger in this series.)
