1) Canon makes 3 different 70-300's - which one are you meaning?
2) You can't use a Canon tele but there may be others that fit. Be aware of aperture loss.
3) I do not have any knowledge of Digital Depot Online.Compare their price with B&H and Adorama for the exact same lens. Be wary of large differences.
Can't help you with the Canon lenses but I can tell you Digital Depot is a well-known "bait-and-switch" scam website.
thanks for answering one of my questions ts

Ron, I have one and love it! IS is a godsend and the pictures are generally very crisp.
Canon 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 is usm is a good lens, but overpriced for its quality. At 300 mm to get really nice and sharp pics you have to use AV=8. With this aperture you will not get nice blurred background.
I would recommend Tamron SP 70-300 f/4-5.6 Di VC . It is almost same price, but delivers better quality.
Best value for the price is Canon EF-S 55-250mm f4-5.6 IS. It will cost you only half price of Tamron or Canon 70-300, but will deliver same quality pics (I would say even better quality). This is great lens, I had it for 2 years and then upgraded to Canon 70-200 f4 IS USM.
Only downside with Canon 55-250 is it is little bit slow for fast action photography. However, I have many nice pics of birds, including BIF, taken with this lense.

Okay, thanks for the clarification (I did not notice what you clearly typed...). I will pass, but this is a great price, same used lens on amazon is $325.
Good luck. Gary

Just checked Amazon, it's going new for 170.00. This one is also like new as I rarely used it.
The one I looked at (apparently a different version) is $325. Several different ones available.
