I actually deleted this program on my hard drive, I tried to reinstall, but a dialogue box keeps coming up wanting to uninstall. I really like this program an I have the original discs with s/n etc. How do I get the program installed again? Thanks for all the comments and help given. I was very careless to have done something so this bad. All help will be appreciated?

It sounds to me like you deleted your desktop icon. Check your installed programs list and see if it is still there.

did you delete this program from windows explorer rather than using 'programs and features' under the control panel menu?

Did you actually uninstall via Control Panel > Uninstall or just delete the icon from your desktop? Deleting the icon does not uninstall the program.

Yes, I was in the control panel and i was deleting a bing bar when I hit the enter key I noticed that the program that was highlighted was pse10, by the time I tried to cancel, it had started the delete process. I know there is no support for this program, I am just trying to reach out for help in getting it back running. Thanks
The desktop icon is gone from desktop but as I sat watching it being deleted, a phrase came on the screen removing desktop icons... Yes, the icon on the desk is gone and I tried looking for the program in the files but it is not there. I went to an adobe.com/forums and was told I needed to manually clean that program, I just don't know how, and no-one in the forum will respond with an answer as to how to manually clean the program from the drive.

If the install disc is asking you to uninstall then the program is still on your computee, In Windows look on the 'All Programs' list. If it's there use 'Search Programs and files' to find it and drag it to your desktop as a shortcut. I don't know the procedure for Mac.

If you are sure you uninstalled it then there are still files on your computer left over from the uninstall. Use your install disc and click on Uninstall. When the process is done simply reinstall. Leave the manual uninstall to experts unless you are very computer savvy. Serious damage to your system can be done with that method.

There are two major problems when manually cleaning an Adobe program from a computer.

The first is the registry, a place where many of us fear to tread with good reason, one or two slip ups and you find other programs not working, even worse you can crash windows. the registry on my machine is only touched by experts, and then I want references from past clients to say this guy is competent to work there.

The second problem is Adobe's habit of sharing the software to run it's programs with other software. For instance, Elements may share an applet or dll with Adobe Reader, or Adobe Air, delete the wrong one and that impacts on other seemingly unrelated applications.

When Adobe tech support clean a machine of a particular application they use a piece of software called Adobe Cleaner. This is not available to purchase, nor is it a Windows application - it runs on DOS and the tech people always delete it when they finish.

Try the method suggested by Yooper 2, it does seem the most sensible way to go, and your computer will still be in one piece with or without Elements.

Don't forget, if the uninstall works, reboot your computer before trying to reinstall.

You are right. Always reboot the computer after an uninstall. Thanks for adding that.

I will try what Yooper 2 suggested, when I get home and let you know what happens. Thank you all for the valuable information you have provided me with. I kind of figured that all of Adobe programs, file share and you are correct on the issue of going into the registry, I will not do that to complicated and possible loss of computer for awhile till I have someone to fix. Thanks for that info Searcher.

Frog NEVER delete Photoshop Elements.
Look under help and you will see a Deactivate button.
By using the deactivate button you can use the License code to reinstall. Even on another computer. Found out the hard way.
Deleting would use up your license and its gone deactivate the license is good to put it back on.
Good luck Frog.
