This is my good friend's baby. We set him up in front of a window, and I threw a sheet over a chair for the background. Not much room to work with, so most of the shots looked best as close ups. Gear is Nikon D90 with kit lens 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6.
I now know (thanks to the wonderful photographers on UHH) the shutter speed is way too low for these focal lengths. PP done with Photoshop Elements. Please comment/critique.
ISO 800, 70mm, 1/25, f/5.3
ISO 800, 45mm, 1/25, f/4.8

He's a bundle of chub and I want to cuddle with him. :)
skintones look pretty good and focus looks good as well. I think you did very well for your first newborn session. I'm sure his momma is very happy.
great shots...love them both
So sweet. I hope I do as well my first time.

AWESOME!!! Professional quality in my opinion.....
Thanks everyone! Yes, his momma was very happy with the photos. I guess I'll try my hand at it again. I have a couple of friends who are due in the next few weeks. ;)

see that is one thing that sucks when your my age, all my friends are done having babies and our kids aren't old enough to give us grandbabies (well my 16 year old is, but I'd kill him dead if it happened).

Both are very nice but I think the B & W is outstanding! Good job!
