My favorite pass time when traveling is to take photos of people.

I am so jealous, I want to travel so badly just so I can get such wonderful people images. :)

I really like #2.

That second shot is great, I really like the expression on his face that you captured.

Awesome shots. Do you ask permission before you shoot? I want to take pics of people on the street but not sure if I'm suppose to ask first.

It all depends on the situation. I do a lot of shooting without asking...often shooting from "the hip" because I like to catch people as they look naturally not posed. If I am in close proximity and stick out as a tourist with a camera I do ask. I am always amazed at how readily people like to have their picture taken; especially if they get to see the results on the camera screen. The only time I have asked for the person to sign a release is here in the US or where English is easily understood. I will post a few posed shots sometime today. My suggestion if you are unsure is to ask.

Thanks. I'm planning a day trip to NYC soon and was thinking of taking pictures of the homeless. I think it would make for some interesting black and whites. Planned on giving them a few dollars for posing.
