OK, it seems that the General Chit Chat forum has just become a minefield of far left and far right leaning people bashing each other. I'd love to see this moved to a section called "bash your neighbor's ideas" and then I can not subscribe to it and see all the hate filled topics.... then General Chit chat could go back to jokes, random thoughts, things that don't incite angry outbursts where one person wants to find out where the other person lives so they can beat the crap out of them because they think the poster is a war monger....

Great sentiment. However, if I post a joke that is funny, but highlighting a racial group, or sex, etc., without being demeaning, I am accused of racism/sexism/misogyny, etc.

So true! There is an element running through society whose sole purpose seems to be looking for anything politically incorrect. If it's not there, they invent it. They are trying to destroy Freedom of Speech. I think they're known as liberals.

I agree bkyser. I miss the info that was once posted here.
I do not discuss (?) hot topics such as religion, gun control, sexual orientation, race, immigration, or politics online. It seems as though if you do not agree with someones viewpoint the name calling starts.
Yes, I know I do not need to come this forum but once in a while there is still something of value.
And yes, I know I do not need the read the posts about these hot topics but I do start to read them because I think we do need to be informed about the viewpoints of others. This is what debate/discussion is about. I quit reading when the name calling begins. This is usually about the time the 3rd or 4th post is given and some times even the original post.
And by the way, My Daddy Can Beat Up Your Daddy. (back to third grade)

The sample size of Chit-Chat is really too small to draw reasonable conclusions...
