MAC refurbish program

I have a MAC 21" desktop which I purchased about a year ago but I was in the market for a new laptop as I wanted to tether my camera on studio shooting. I looked at the cheaper 13" Macbook air and Macbook Pro's but decided that I really wanted a 15" screen so had to go the Macbook Pro route. As in most things Apple, they are so darn expensive!!!

UHH member Jerryc is always touting the benefits of going refurbished so I decided to take his advice and go that route.

I am trying this message using my "new" refurbished 15" Macbook Pro which is in mint condition. 8GB Ram, video card with 1GB memory and 256GB HD and a full year warranty. I did buy the Apple care pack too. Cost the laptop? $1699 with free shipping. $500 cheaper than a brand new one. It obviously shipped from the States and arrived in 4 days via the brown truck.

Awesome deal and I highly recommend this program for anyone looking to buy a new laptop. Cheers, Mark

Apple products are only expensive at initial purchase. Afterwards software OS upgrades, have been at most $29, to the last one being free. Compare this with Windows upgrades which are in the 100's of dollars and you soon realize Mac's are reasonable. Pay me now or pay me later.
Oh by the way. Apple products actually work (without the "blue screen of death").

I know all about Microsoft products, I have been a MCSE and a PC tech since 1999. Photography has made me a convert to Apple because I need something that works out of the box and continues to work

I used to work at an Apple site as a security officer. Their sales of new and refurbished equipment to employees was not anywhere near as advantageous as their current sales. (Yippee, $300 off on a $3000 computer for an employee - and no discounts to employees in their retail stores except on accessories.) Now, their refurbished sales are generous, but beware of the control Apple exercises over quantities available and older models.

There was an option to buy the exact same model and specs for $100 cheaper but it was a year older. I stuck with the 2013 model.
