A young new member of our camera club, by winning the last club competition, has the choice of subjects for a competition coming up in the new session. The subject she has chosen is Surrealism which has thrown the cat amongst the pigeons. Any Hog out there know of any tutorials on how to create surreal images. I have already started taking images with this comp in mind.

If you have the right to use composite image, take a pig and make it fly using the previous image to give it wings?

While we're playing with words, you know you won't be able to make a silk purse from one of those muddy animals. :D

I think the trick with surreal is to take it rather than make it. Wide angle lens and unusual shooting angles. Google surreal photos.

Go to any governmental agency or institute of higher learning that dares to permit photography.

Surrealism abounds.

Hello rongnongono and others who have commented..yes you are right and goes to show how young minds work.Photographers in our club(as most clubs)produce excellent images. One has to take into account judges and what they like, personally I am into abstract images so I am hoping I can combine both subjects together to produce a finished result. As the oldest member of our club (78) I do not intend to take a back seat!!!!

Good luck with your competition. Should be lots of fun.

Loved the picture of Congress, by the way.

Agreed!
Off topic, but well done for making the miserable trip from Barry to Aldeburgh. It was bad enough getting there from Yorkshire- we went for the birdlife at Minsmere.
Lovely photo. And good luck with sorting out that lad!

Agreed again- I don't know where these dreadful education statistics come from. Not only do the youngsters I meet think they know it all, most of the time they do!
Fortunately our journey to the far east of England doesn't use the M25, but it still seems a long way...
