I was told it was neither. However; I am posting anyway.
At least I am shooting and trying.
The sensor size of your Sony A700 is 23.5 x 15.6 mm. The size of this clover bloom is approximately 12-mm (1/2-inch) diameter, so I believe that this is a 1:1 macro-photograph. Exif info does not reveal which lens used, nor aperture. Please provide lens info and aperture, if known.
Exif info:

Whatever it is, it is kind to the eye. I like it. Well done. :D :D
Pretty flower nicely done.
You'll get the real scoop on this macro forum.
That is a macro I do believe, and pretty darned well done, too.
I spent the afternoon pulling that stuff out. What was I thinking? :)

A700 is APS-C so if it is less then 15.6mm tall, yes it is a macro shot. Nice shot. Clovers actually make nice subjects, lots of details.

It is a manual 50mm f/1.7 Minolta lens on extension tube. I'm not sure of the f/stop. My rookie mistake for not keeping track and writing it down. I'll try harder next time.

Thanks all. It is common yard clover. I have looked at it and cut it for many years. I just decided to take a look at it in a completely different way. Glad I did. What a world of discovery I have unlocked!
