Hollywood Inserts Gun Control Subtext in New Planet of the Apes Movie
JULY 8, 2014 10:35 PM

SECOND AMENDMENT
Entertainment part of brainwashing effort against 2nd Amendment

(Info Wars) – It is no secret Hollywood is loaded with liberal movie moguls and directors.

Last January we reported on uber-lib movie producer and Obama supporter Harvey Weinstein bragging he would produce a film attacking the Second Amendment and targeting the National Rifle Association. Weinstein told Howard Stern the NRA would “wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them.”

“I don’t think we need guns in this country. And I hate it,” he added.

Around the same time Weinstein was railing against the Second Amendment Obama visited the DreamWorks studio and ministrated his anti-gun message to the choir. He instructed the Hollywood execs to “think long and hard” about the message gunplay often gratuitously portrays in movies.

“We gotta make sure that we’re not glorifying it,” Obama lectured. He told the executives they have a “big responsibility” to a movie-going public. “Because the stories you tell shape our children’s outlook and their lives.”

[Hollywood has long used movies to distribute anti-gun and anti-gun owner messages. An interesting example was Spielberg's Schindler's List. In the real-life story, Schindler helped arm many Jews and told them, "If the Nazis come for you at least go down fighting and take some of them with you." That fact was censored out of the movie.]

In lieu of Weinstein’s promised anti-Second Amendment epic, “Cloverfield” director Matt Reeves produced a film with a distinctly anti-gun subtext. “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” is now in theaters and it has some Second Amendment advocates crying foul.

“You’d have to be pretty obtuse to miss the pro-gun-control subtext attached to misdeeds on both sides of the man-monkey battle,” writes Guy Lodge for Variety. “The ‘Apes’ franchise has always been a politically loaded one.”

“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” is a direct attack on the very foundation of the Second Amendment. The film portrays apes acquiring firearms for the purpose of revolution – with disastrous consequence. The Second Amendment and the guarantee of the English Bill of Rights of 1689 that proceed it ensured the right to bear arms in defense against the state.

“The 2nd Amendment, contrary to much of today’s conversation, has just as much to do with the people protecting themselves from tyranny as it does burglars,” writes Erick Erickson. “That is why there is so little common ground about assault rifles — even charitably ignoring the fact that there really is no such thing. If the 2nd Amendment is to protect the citizenry from even their own government, then the citizenry should be able to be armed.”

This concept is opposed by the Hollywood liberal elite on a visceral and irrational level. As Weinstein demonstrated, the elite believe the American people not only do not have a right to firearms, they in fact cannot be trusted to possess them even for the sake of self-defense. Liberals believe in the highest maxim of the state — only it may have a monopoly of violence.

The anti-Second Amendment – indeed, the anti-natural rights – Hollywood elite will continue their screed against the Second Amendment. Obama’s admonishment – to de-glorify the use of firearms – will be used to brainwash an already largely brainwashed populace on the evil of the right to bear arms.

It's a Movie, which has the potential to reach millions around the planet. If the "Hollywood Elite" can effect change in the country and stop the needless bloodshed, so be it.

You can still stay home and play with your guns.

Nobody is coming to take your guns, you can have as many as you want. Thank goodness most of America doesn't need guns like the elderly membership who make up most of UHH. There are enough video games that glorify guns, a motion picture isn't and you gun nuts start worrying. smh

Hollyweird's main concern is making money, I'm sure they are all anti gun Just look at all the war movies and westerns and gangster flicks they have produced. Come on now, they don't have a collected thought in the whole state.

The movie does seem to make a point. I'm sure if talking apes arrived on the scene, the GOP would try to win them over by allowing them to buy guns.
I mean after all, finally a constituency that has the same IQ as the GOP leadership is hard to pass up.

We absolutely do need as many assault rifles avaiable as possible or we will be totally unprepared when the actual Ape/Monkey uprising occurs.

Shooter, all those *geniuses* on the kook left fringe need to establish Gun Free Zones all around their homes, places of work, and play. THEN they'll be *safe* you betcha. (wink, nudge)

Why do they despise liberty and our Constitution so much, even as they plow forward murdering 1,300,000 unborn babies every year? This genocide hits blacks particularly hard, as racist Margaret Sanger wanted to do.

Gun Free Zone! Establish yours now.

The subject is "GUNS". As in "GUNS KILL PEOPLE."

Are you with me so far, Lefty? "GUNS KILL PEOPLE"?

Guns do not kill a fraction of the number of people that abortions kill. Not a fraction.

So if you Democrats are so "concerned" about "saving lives," then stop supporting and promoting abortion. Stop funding Planned Parenthood with public hundreds of millions of dollars.
Unconscionable. Don't try to dodge your bloody hands with lame excuses. They may fly with your lefty pals, but they don't fly with me.

Oh, and abortion is racist. That makes all Democrats who support abortion racists.

You get EVERYTHING incorrectly, as is your anti-American, anti-Constitutional intent.

You would be very much at home in North Korea. Their incompetent thug likes basketball too.

I think you and I will hardly ever agree on anything of a political nature.

Did I get THAT wrong as well?

Anti-American, anti-Constitutional .... my, my, are you bloviating.....just a little?

I don't like or dislike basketball. Why would you bring that up when the thread is about guns and movies??????
