CHOLLY's comment could have been directed at either or both of us - and I echo your response. We seem to agree on how to use ETTR, just not on why.
At low ISO, which all experienced landscape photographers use, there is no noise issue to be concerned about. As I have said from the start, if they don't see the problem (and you cannot demonstrate it at low ISO), they will not be interested in applying the technique. Otherwise, ETTR is just a solution in search of a problem, which you have to create artificially by using a high ISO where we all know we will find noise.
But if you concentrate your pitch on something that you
can demonstrate at low ISO, shadow detail, you might find a more sympathetic audience.
