We made a very similar trip in Fall,2013. Peggy's Cove is very nice. Try to be there as the sun is going down. Also, drive further south and take your time (you really have no choice on that coastal road). Be ready to pull off to get some great landscape photos and pictures of the tiny fishing villages. We got as far south as Lununberg but I'm sure it would have been nice to go further. Weather, especially near the water, can be pretty chilly and windy.
