I've always found it ironic that on the day we celebrate our country, we give billions of dollars to China for fireworks.
Maybe we should switch to something else and keep the money here. Maybe fountain displays? Elaborate kites? Guns with blanks?
How about it - If we didn't have fireworks, what else would you use to celebrate Independence day? Or would we just end up buying the new alternative from China in the end anyway?
