Mahalo for sharing. I may not be from Texas but I thank those who serve and am very proud of her veterans. A great tribute and mahalo to all those who served.

What a great tribute to Vietnam vets. Thanks for sharing. Wish I were there to see it in person. I didn't quite understand the fees on the door. Is the $7 fee just for visiting the education center?

JoAnne: thought I'd share this photo with you. It's the tail end of a Cobra that was used in Vietnam by a contingency of the Hawaiian Nation Guard. I once lived on Oahu, and was married on Lanikai Beach.

Joe Galloway is a great photojournalist who was immortalized in the film "We Were Soldiers," with Mel Gibson.

Yes, you are correct, the fee is for the education center. The football field sized tribute area with all the names and statutes are free.

You might be interested in the motorcycle event at the memorial. These folks are Vietmam Vets or mothers of the fallen:

Really great. Too bad there doesn't seem to be very much patriotism in America anymore except for a few. Why did it take something like 911 to bring it to life and wake people but then it died almost as quick as it was born.

Thanks. Flew a COBRA a couple times but not in combat. My combat bird was the old and reliable HUEY.

Mahalo for sharing. Hope you don't mind my sharing. I have a few friends that were in the Guard and served in Nam. I think they would enjoy. Yes, Hawaii is a great place to be married. Again, Mahalo
