Federal government overreach?

It should be a requirement for anyone who is a legal resident of the USA to have some proficiency with the English language. If employees can't communicate with their fellow workers, supervisors and management then they should not have been hired in the first place. :(

So my friend, why was this never an issue before?
Could it be that all those immigrants from Germany, Italy, Greece, etc, etc all arrived on our shores speaking the kings English or could it be you just didn't mind because they were Europeans?

If you could grasp the concept of legal immigration you might understand, but the liberals in their infinite wisdom have decided that some laws are just not for them to follow, therefore anyone who follows the laws as described in the constitution are full of hate.

Both my parents were immigrants. One was English speaking the other was not. We were never allowed to speak any language outside other than English. They thought it was disrespectful. At home and with family was another story. My children were taught the same. They have taught their children the same.
English is our language. End of story,

Brian,
Why do you viciously attack and insult people who are only asking a simple question regarding a post you have made? Why not respond with a real comment addressing the question?

This kind of response is uncalled for. Did you make this post to ridicule people who disagree with you, or were you looking for an honest debate?

Personally, I tend to agree with the idea that all citizens should at least have a basic knowledge of English. I believe living in a country and not knowing the official language not only holds the person back from advancing in that society, but could also be dangerous since they are unable to read warning signs, etc.

I certainly agree with the second part of your comments. Frank has a history of being what he is.

The thread was in relations to people "learning English" not the legality of their immigration status.
I'm not saying anyone is a Racist, I'm just recognizing evidence that may support that.

Oh we'll...I guess you don't know how to reply to a civil question. Or maybe you don't have an answer.
