Only in Italy

Subject: Italian Jewish Wedding

Only in Italy could you have a Jewish wedding where a cantor sings an Italian love song in Hebrew.
In this video, it is sung not by Andrea Bocelli but by a young cantor, and some wonderful children's voices.

Play it all the way through it is truly beautiful. You've never seen anything like this:

The song is "The Prayer", written by David Foster and Carol Bayer Sager. There are many, many versions on You Tube with Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groben, Celine Dion, etc. One of my favorites was on the David Foster PBS show where he plays piano in front of the orchestra and sung by Andrea Bocelli and Katherine Mc Phee.

It's a beautiful piece in any language.

Great link, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wonder who could afford a wedding like that?

Thanks for sharing.

It is a beautiful piece of music. I think it is actually 'Con Te Partiro' which translates to 'time to say goodbye'.
The title doesn't fit the way is was done for this wedding!! My favorite version is with Bocelli and Sarah Brightman.

It reminded me of the wedding my daughter had, only that was at O'Duffy's Tavern and the singers were toothless.

Love it. Thanks
