This shot was taken from the far side of the road and across the river to the tree. You have seen Linda's so you know that is quite a distance. Just amazes me that this cheap little camera can do this. The little robin was blown out of the tree so we fixed him a new set up. I fed him for a while then Mom took over. Thank goodness as he wanted to be fed about every 20 minutes. I held him and his mate while bowl was fixed up. Apparently Mom didn't care.

The first and third ones look good to me. The middle one seems fuzzy (that's my technical term when I don't know if it's out of focus or camera shake!).
I also have the SX50 and am still learning on it and doing comparisons to my D5200.
Today, I plan to take both out and shoot some egrets and swans at our bird observatory. So far, I am happy with my SX50.
Thanks, could very well be to camera shake as I am 82 and not as steady as I use to be and these camera's are hard to hold steady when extended. Also when AOL resizes they loose quality. When printed 13 x 19 it looked ok.
I'm so glad you posted the McGuyver'd robin nest, Bee. That is just the coolest thing, and how wonderful of you and your hubby to take the time to do that!
Thanks Linda, they are doing well and should be leaving soon.

I can certainly appreciate the difficulty of holding it steady zoomed all the way out. It is such a light camera compared to a DSLR decked out in a long zoom.
IMO, the last one you posted IS less "fuzzy" to my eye.
Thanks, that is what I thought also, eye sight is not as good as it use to be. Can't understand that. ha

the robins were quite lucky to be rescued by you :-) i really like the last eagle picture with the feather detail!
Thanks, that is the one I meant to post the first time when I discovered my mistake I couldn't delete it. Bee
