It always surprises me how people get a soapbox for their cause (re: your link) and change the subject to their cause. It's not only the Muslims. I've been closely associated with displaced Palestinians and other close by Arab countries who called themselves Christians, and every one of them would have constant conversations about Jews and pushing Israel in the sea. It really makes you want to avoid that unproductive talk and hearing a broken record.

In another incident, a co-worker girl I knew married a Muslim man, and in conversation with her she snapped and became very angry and abusive when I was talking about Christmas to her. The girl said that people didn't understand the Muslim religion. Another put-down incident I had was in a health food store when I was trying to be friendly with a lady who was dressed as a Muslim. She mentioned something about a loose grain cleaning you out (alluding to my bad breath). Why can't most Arabs and Muslims have a friendly conversation without putting down the other person? It has certainly put me on guard being around Arabs or Muslims in general.
