This is my first attempt and I cheated. I used the backlight button on my point and shoot.

You're funny! The pictures are gorgeous. I don't have a back light button :(

Love the flag and those flies! (did you ever see the pic of RR with the hook near his eye - for real?). Morning glories are cheerful :)

Thanks much. No I haven't, maybe he'll repost it.

It's another hot one but cooler at the shore so took daughter and grandsons and we went to tour the Nina and Pinta - got some backlight. Very interesting. Ships will next be sailing through St. Lawrence I believe and through the Great Lakes, Illinois R, Arkansas R and then Mississippi and around the gulf and Florida back up to Delaware where they are berthed. Hard to imagine "sailing the ocean blue in 1492" in these.

Peekiing through the stairs. Not the greatest, but it's backlit...

Hi,

Sorry for posting so late, I've been singing The Working Man's Blues as of late.

When I was a pre-amateur I was convinced that backlight came from my backside and frontlight came from the front. Finally I was brought to order.

Basically it is this, using sunlight at a low angle to light up petals and leaves and such. It can also be very successfully used in portraits.

So here we go, have fun

Terrific William. Is that statue near where you live? You have it in so many different lightings, directions etc.

I found one where I used back lighting on this scene of an accident. This is where a vehicle went off the main street outside our neighborhood and through this rock wall. The wood fence panel that is filling the gap in the rock wall is actually from another side fence that the vehicle also violated just before crashing into another neighbors swimming pool.

Police report suspected drugs and alcohol may have been involved

Back lit because I couldn't get to the other side.

Larry, I like the light at the end of the lane and in back of the tree.

I'm betting it's going to be a good one RR. nice start.

I'm going to have to go dig up my very first back lit attempt from 1961. In the mean time dig these. Looking forward to the fun.
