Got my first real chance to use my new Tamron 150-600. Went to a local park in search of birds. But, found mostly deer. Here are a few shots.

I did use stabilization this time but, don't really know how much it helped (any is good for these old hands).

Nice shots and does indeed make me look at that lens. Were you hand holding, or using a mono/tripod, and about how far away were you? I have tremors and find I need to use a support even with IS.
Thanks

Nice shots. I keep going back to look at the cardinal in the tree. The composition, dof, and color contrast are quite wonderful and appealing.

Yes, hand held with no pod. The fawn and mother were about 100 yards away. Fawn alone was about 50 yard. Other 2 were less than 25 yards.

Thank you for looking and commenting.

Very nice images, and I do believe the VC works nicely on this lens.
I received my Tamron lens this past week and have shot a number of images in the off-hand and found them to be quite sharp. I'm in my seventies and I'm no longer as steady as I once was. LOL

Yup. Waiting for the Nikon version myself. I read anything that says 150-600mm just for hints and ideas.

Was wondering on a tripod, is tripod hookup on that mid-barrel handle, rather then the bottom of the camera ?

Hi Jake. You're in good company as far as tremors go.
Every year I need a faster lens to help combat my
shaking hands (allows me to use faster shutter speed).
It's a joke because I do need faster lens the
camera I'm using now (Canon SX 160) does not take
other lens.

Sarge69,
Yes the tripod mount is on the lens barrel, little toward the camera I believe.
