I took a drive up Picket Pin mountain yesterday, no the snow was not gone yet so I only made it half way. But on the way up I photographed these remains of an old homestead. I really liked the mid-morning light and the sky. These are straight out of camera shots except I have resized them to 72ppi down from 300ppi for posting.
I hope some of you might like them.

Very nice. This place looks like it might still be in use with the exception of the poor condition of the roof.
Enjoyed. You were rewarded with beautiful skies, colors are vivid and the scene is quieting. I can see why the settlers picked this area to settle.

I like both, the trees behind the house in 1 and the deep blue sky in 2.

Nice shots MT...
#2 is very beautiful with the setting, wispy clouds - maybe even a hawk?

Nice photos--sharp and great color right out of the camera!!!
how about cropping square on the lower image and getting rid of some of the foreground. Like the images!

Hello again MT I'm checking out your posts. Anytime I see "barn" or "abandoned" "homestead" I look. THis is great, I much prefer the perspective in the second view, giving a greater sence of placement and perspective. Looks to me more barn than homestead. I'm undecided about the car wheel/axle in the forground which looks contrived, I know it isn't but would like it less prominent. I do like to see how the building fits in the landscape, and admire another contributor Mr Harclod's work for that. I confess I'm no expert on composition, I know what "I" like, I struggle to produce work I am happy with, and gain huge inspiration from UHH, my output is almost all for my own pleasure, if someone else like it, that's a bonus. I'm probably "normal"; the scariest thought of the lot!. Cheers, Andrew.
