Ahhhhh, that is back in the day when you could tell one car from another by their distinctive designs. Would that it were so today.

Cars had personalities then, didn't they? thanks for the pictures. They are great! I remember that Daddy had a '55 chevy impala, my brother had a '57 ford something, then Daddy had a '56 Olds and continued to drive an Olds for the rest of his driving life.

Glad you all liked them, thanks for looking. One more set of 50's to go.
So sweet, I miss them.......the 50's that is!
Cars back in the day were great because their styling and many options changed every year.
My best friend and I grew up in Milwaukee, WI in the 50's and 60's, and we always had fun driving around from dealership to dealership in late July or August to see the very first new model cars.
We both were automotive engineers after college, and today I marvel at how the automotive engineering community at the Big 3 were able to totally change the car style yearly, when everything was done manually on a drafting table, let alone making all new stamping dies every year for the body and other parts.
It was a lot of fun in the day!
Today's models typically last 4 years with minor styling changes and the excitement is not nearly as great.
However, the recent horsepower war worldwide is almost unbelievable!
707 horsepower in a 2015 new Dodge Challenger Hellcat....WOW!

Love the different designs and colors. Ah, and the fins.
For the last 20+ years the cars all look to be designed by a committee of about 4-6 people of like mind and no imagination!
Thanks for posting these beauties.
Great set KTJohnson!
You captured not only the styling of the time and the interest of the fans but the subtle pastels of the period.
Excellent.
