These are very pretty. I always thought it would be fun to learn to tye? Tie?
But I have no interest in fly fishing. :)

Thank you.

I was into fishing, then I learned how to tie hair/feather jigs and inline spinner tails. Then I advanced to fly tying. A couple of years later, I learned how to fly fish. Tying flies is fun and quite addicting. Then again, so is fly fishing.

So maybe tying flies and not being a fisher person isn't so wild a thought. My husband likes to ice fish and I like to eat them, but don't make me sit out on that ice to catch them.

The one thing I've always said about ice fishing; "If God wanted us to walk on water, he would have made our feet look like boats." Neve been ice fishing, although I have tied tiny ice jigs for panfish. They work all year.

I am with you on this one. What is an ice jig? maybe I could start with something like that that he would be able to use. Though the word tiny makes it sound like something these arthritic hands might have trouble with.

I would take a picture of one and show you, but all my panfish equipment is in storage.

Basically, an ice jig consists of a piece of metal soldered to a small hook. They can be painted and sometimes add a small feather (hackle) wraped arond the hook and tied off. Marabou is great for this.

If your husband ice fishes, I'm sure he has some in his box if he fishes for panfish.

yep. That is about all he fishes for. I should go check it out. I don't remember seeing any, but I can't say I have ever really looked either. ;-)
