Is there a way to tell what the ratio is between a subject and what is recorded on a digital camera's sensor? I have been told that if I set my macro 105mm lens to the closest focus point and then move the camera in and out, that when the subject is in focus the ratio is 1:1. I have three examples of closeness in this post. The first is a macro 105mm lens. Should be 1:1. The second is the macro 105mm and a number 1, 2 and 4 magnifying lenses. What is this ratio? The third picture is the second picture with a little cropping. What is its ratio?

Thanks for the info Nikonian. I know we have gone over this before, this additional info makes the subject a lot clearer.
