Here's a flight shot of a white ibis also taken yesterday afternoon. I'm not a huge fan of open sky flight shots but I went with this anyway since that's where they were when I saw them flying.
Check out the muddy face and feet. It was previously feeding around in the muck in the salt marsh at low tide.

I don't know why you feel that way about open air flight shots, this one is perfect and shows an aspect of the birds life that few get to see up close.

Those are great shots (as usual)! I hope that Ibis eat sardines also. I put a can out 2 days ago here, in Kansas City but still nothing. Maybe it is the tomato sauce?

Try growing some muck with lots and lots of little bugs in it. If you can grow it, they will come. Great shots, Swamp Gator!
