Hi friends: I am trying to find out about my Canon Powershot Sh50HS - if I can do any post processing in camera, such as cropping, black and white, sepia?
I'm looking but I don't think I can do this.

Thanks everyone.

Ayuh - creative effects are on pages 92 to 94 of the user guide :)

However, I recommend downloading the free photo editor, Picasa by Google. You can then have your original shots, and make the creative effects, as well as do quick and easy cropping, in Picasa:

The SX50hs has quite a few settings and options, but as far as I can tell, they are ONLY used during the TAKING of a photo and NOT for EDITING.

I will second Linda's suggestion for getting Picasa to start doing the types of editing that you mention.

Do your post processing Photoshop Elements, or in Photoshop or other quality post processor. Even Picasa will likely offer the tools to do what you are trying to do. Picasa is easy to use and free.

If you decide you need more, consider Smart Photo Editor (I think that is the name), or Corel's PaintShop Pro. Corel PSPx6 Ultimate can do most everything PhotoShop can do, including taking most of the same plug-ins, and can usually be purchased for $40-80. List price of Ultimate is $99

When I think of post process I think computer. Don't totally discard the idea of something like Photoshop Elements. Some versions are about $69 to $99. It is so much fun. David

In review. Can you zoom in and copy your photo? I can on my Nikons and Kodak.

This response got me to searching. With the SX50hs you CAN ReSize (change JPG size) or Crop directly in camera.

These are items that I personally would never use, because I prefer a much larger image to work on and analyze before doing any cropping and re-sizing, so had never searched before. I would still prefer to do these edits in either Picasa or PaintShop Pro simply because of the essentially unlimited additional possibilities and ease of selecting options.
