I am an advanced PSE user and have never used LR. How does LR Complement PSE? It's nearing the time for PSE to announce a new edition? Would it be wise to wait?

You can use PSE and LR and toggle between them.

PSE = Photoshop Elements
LR = Lightroom
Both are Adobe photo editing software

I was an avid PSE user, and was very disappointed when I got Lightroom, didn't use it much for the first couple of months. One day I went to you tube, and looked up Lightroom Tutorials. I was amazed what could be done without layers. Now I cant Imagine being without LR. I use it more than PSE.

You can do 95% of your editing in LR and then polish it off in PS. As a side note, I think LR's printing capabilities and features are highly unsung. I don't use PSE so I can't address how well or not it works with LR.

Do you use LR's organizer. A friend touts LR's organizer?

Pse's organizer works fine, but LR's organizer is great! I have imported all of the photos stored on external hard drives, into LR. It doesn't copy them (unless you want to), it just remembers how to find them. Doesnt matter if you disconect them, LR finds the photos next time you plug the XHD in.
Should also point out that LR and PSE work great together.

That is a significant issue. I hear friends say they love PS for editing, but use LR for the organizer. Might sign up for $10 @ month and give it a try.

Adobe still offers hard copies if you prefer.

How difficult is it to switch from PSE to LR? I am a heavy user of PSE and don't want to lose all my Stacks, Version sets, ratings, etc. Do they transfer to LR?

LR is better for processing RAW images; move to PSE if you subsequently need to use layers.
