What causes these little lines?

It looks to be one of two things:
1: Your eyesight is better then mine.
2: Your eyesight is worse then mine.
:)
I don't see what you are referring to. Perhaps it is your monitor. Can you view it on someone else's monitor?

As soon as I get to the library I will view them & see. They are pretty grimy but-----
There are a few things I'm going to try out thanks to you UHH members. Thanks for taking time to look & comment. :-D

It's a great shot. Lines are barely perceptible, but hair is not completely opaque and there may be some refraction.
Also, hair grows in a dermatomal distribution, where segments from one area overlap another but have their termination zones.

Thank you. I'm getting ready to print one out & see if it's visible in printed version. I'm betting it won't be.
