What's Stronger - a Ping Pong Ball or a Paddle?

Interesting high speed video of a supersonic ping pong ball hitting a paddle. I'd like to see how they got it going supersonic.

I saw this. I think they had it on "Outrageous Acts of Science."
It's shot out of a custom made air cannon in the lab at Purdue.

Might be a good, low-cost weapon for our military. Getting the air supply might be a problem, though. :D

If they're developing it in a lab, they must have some ultimate goal in mind.

Not at Purdue. My daughter & son-in-law graduated (science) from there. They are VERY SERIOUS!

Nah, they can set it up in D.C. where there is a seemingly endless supply of warm to hot air.

I think that members of Congress, the Dolts under the Dome, would only need to exhale simultaneously to furnish enough hot air to do the job.
