My first outing with my new Sony SLT-A65V camera equipped with a Sigma 18-250mm DC lens. Love this camera and lens.
Photos from an air show at Evansville, Indiana on June 14'th.
Very nice captures Richard.
Love it!!!

Nice. I can't wait to get to Oshkosh (AirVenture)! I haven't been there since '11, when I utilized EAA's rideshare service for the first time. I'm bringing the same guy with me along with his son this time. He's from Perth, Australia. Oshkosh (STL-ORD-OSH) is 7 hrs, less if I didn't go through Chicago. Two of my winning e-published shots came from OSH '11. I've probably been to the worlds biggest aviation convention about 1/2 dozen times. The only airshow I've been to this year was in May about 45 minutes West of me in MO.
It's too bad that the lighting wasn't in your favor.

I have been there for the past 12 years straight and the BEST thing about it is my company pays for it! We have a booth there in one of the buildings.
Your shutter speed is too fast as you stopped the props, looks like they will fall from the sky..
Good shooting Richard.
Enjoyed viewing these.
Thanks for posting.

Thanks for sharing! Nice shots. I'm a sucker for these.
I'm torn between going with a faster or slower shutter speed. Sometimes I like it when the props are frozen, other times just a shimmer. The best is when you get a blur effect from a quarter turn. You just never know how they'll look one or the other.

Cool! Can you bring guests?:) Oh wait, "have a booth." My brain thought flight-line tent/free food/air conditioning. A couple years back my EAA chapter offered me an extra media pass for the convention, but as I was unemployed at the time I couldn't afford the camping and food expenses I would have to foot for myself. I probably missed a golden opportunity.

Yep, company paid hotel, transportation and food. Yes, that includes alcohol! What more could I ask for other than being allowed to fly my own airplane up there. Unfortunately, they will never allow that... Small price to pay for an all expense paid trip every year to the greatest air show in the world.

agree to disagree here ... there's enough blur effect
two at once is a once in a lifetime shot ...

Wonderful set, especially considering the "supposedly" average lens!
