I have the download and try version of it and I see it updated today I sure do like the way it removes and views spots, and it seems to run much faster. I got to wondering if a version 6 was not far off.

generally they release a new version every year. I was spending $70 for the upgrade and $50 for PSE so I changed to the subscription. $120 a year and I get all the updates and save little bit of cash.

This might be a good idea for me too but I will wait until there is a new version to switch ...

Sign up for the $10/mo deal for LR and CC - then you get the updates/upgrades for free. They will not be increasing the price, btw.

Thanks Gene, I am one of those old farts that does not trust this cloud stuff, otherwise it looksa as if it would be a good deal

There is nothing to mistrust. You don't have to use the cloud for storage. The only difference is that you will download your software to your computer, rather than buy a disk. All the software and all of your data stay on your computer. Every time you open Photoshop, "ET phones home" to check to see if there are any upgrades, and will automatically download and install them. Nothing to be afraid of. I don't use their cloud storage - I have my own using a Synology box.

Cloud is a marketing gimmic, there is no such thing by the way. Except of course the ones you see in the sky.

??

What you said makes no sense. It's no gimmick, it's a real, rational approach to remote program execution and file storage/backup/retrieval.

Adobe's implementation is used just as a vehicle for application and update/upgrade delivery.

I know a few folks that have it and just the storage part makes them happy along with the quick updates. I might just need to get over my fear of my stuff being in the either(cloud)

When you subscribe to the Creative Cloud, the updates come free, making your concerns a moot point.

There is nothing to fear. You only store on the cloud if you want to. The software is on your computer and you store all of your photos on your hard drive just like you always have. Adobe does give you 2gb of storage but if you use it is entirely up to you.

I have been one of those who balked at the idea of paying for CC. Said pay $10.00 a month by the end of December last year. I still didn't. I honestly don't know what that was all about. I see now that one can subscribe to CS6 for one year at $10.00 a month. I already run CS6 and get the updates for free, although probably not the ones you CC users are getting. I also use LR which upgraded for free. Now I am considering biting the bullet and purchase Creative Cloud or should I wait till CS7 comes out?

The upgrade Lightroom works even better. I mainly use it more than PS.

The latest CC happened yesterday. You get regular updates with CC. You can get CC and Lightroom for $9.99 plus tax.
