The woman with a book on her head talking on her cell? Is it the title of the book? Where I live, yes, this would be different, I didn't think so much in NY.

I did not ask her lol. I guess she reads through osmosis
I'm sure everyone noticed. They just ignored it. There are too many strange or unusual things to see in many really big cities. You can't react to everything you see.

Many years ago in the mid '70s when I lived in Greenwich Village I was coming home from a New Year's Eve party at dawn. The temperature was very mild for a New Years Day in New York. I passed a young couple in Sheridan Square, the heart of the Village. The man was in full S&M leather regalia including a whip and a leather face mask. He was holding a chain several feet long attached to a spiked dog collar around the neck of a beautiful 20 something woman wearing only a kaftan unbuttoned to below the navel. The woman was smiling with a look of ecstasy on her face. And while I certainly noticed it, and obviously have never forgotten it, I didn't even react to that. But a woman talking on a cell phone with a book on her head in New York City? Not even worth a 2nd glance.
