While in WY last month, I witnessed a red tail hawk circling a sage brush draw. Got my camera and walked over to see what was happening just as the hawk swooped down in the draw. This occurred while I was setting my camera exposures and switching to continuous focusing so I missed the initial "charge". Guess I screwed up the charge. As I got to the edge of the draw a white tail jack rabbit was bounding away and the hawk aborted and circled me while keeping an eye on the rabbit. Anyway a few photos of this event.
Yes, but he was still running when I turned to photograph the hawk. Think he was out feeding in the little draw when the hawk tried to sneak up from behind with the sun on his back.
