A New Business Model?

Over the past few years, a major thrust for large companies has been to buy up thousands of patents and then look for someone to sue for infringing on those patents.

Elon Musk, of SpaceX and Tesla fame, is reversing that practice. He has made his patents available to whomever wants them. He has been able to produce a successful electric car, and he thinks others should also be able to do so.

I absolutely love that this is happening. This is a company that is putting the benefits for man ahead of their own profit. Unheard of in this greed infested society as of late. Bravo to Tesla and Elon Musk for doing the right thing.

I'd like to buy a Tesla for my son and one for myself, but the cost is a bit out of my comfort zone. He'll have free charging stations across the country and free updates to the cars.

I really like the attitude of Tesla and wish there were more companies like them.

I wonder if there are more companies who have made moves like this. Anyone know of any?
