Although it was a different version, a local TV station here in the Phoenix area would sign off every night with that poem, featuring an F-104, and then The National Anthem.

It was beautiful. I have goosebumps all the way to my ankles. I used to fly and miss my days of "poking holes in the clouds" to the point of actual phyical pain. Getting back in the left seat is way up there on my bucket list.

Thanks for posting. I remember the F104, too. Followed by the Natian Anthem sung by the AF Academy choir. The author was killed in action as I recall reading.
