Houlihan's Pop-Up Ads

Does anyone else here find Houlihan's pop-up ads to be a big turn-off to doing business with them? It ticks me off that they would have the audacity to make their advertisement open a pop-up every time a cursor scrolls over or otherwise touches their ad. The pop-up covers other entries, forcing us to click on the "X" to close their pop-up before we can read what is under it. I consider this to be offensive and rude!

Do they really think that they are going to make us want to come to their restaurant by being such a pest? Not me. I'm not going near one again until they stop such an irritating practice.

I have no problem with Houlihan's advertising on UHH, just their automatic pop-ups. I appreciate that UHH counts on the revenue of advertisers to maintain this great site. Therefore, as a rule, I like to support UHH by doing business with their advertisers.

I have become oblivious to pop ups. I place a sticky note over them.

I'm pretty good at ignoring pop-ups too. But these are a particular pain because they seem to be on every page and as you scroll down your cursor will hit it before you know it is coming. then you have to stop and hit the x to see what it is blocking. If it disappeared when your cursor moved off of it I wouldn't give it a second thought.

Some advertising company gave Houlihan's very bad advice in setting this up to stay up and pester prospective customers. I hope Houlihan's wakes up to what they are doing, corrects it, and then fires the advertising company that set it up.

You might want to check your computer for adware.

Good idea. My AVG is supposed to get that stuff, but I am overdue for double checking it. Thanks.

Are the Houlihan pop-ups opening automatically on you computer when your cursor just passes over them?

We don't serve any popups. So it's most likely adware on your computer that does it.

The ads on most sites are targeted. It's a bit silly because, if you buy a product online, you constantly receive ads for the same product.
