post edit is better. the sky pops and you can see detail in what once was shadow. you said stationed in hawaii. Are you in the military? if so thank you for serving your country. America can never make up for the shamefull and dishonorable way we treated our vietnam vets, but i am on a crusade to make sure all our vets know they are apreciated and loved for their service.

Thanks for serving our country. I have a niece in Fort Hood, just back from Iraq. My husband and I watched her three year old daughter for her while she was gone. I like your photo. Just a few things I notice if you don't mind. I would have shot this from a little lower angle and with the horizon straight. I can see that a lot of blue was added. Don't be afraid to use masks in photoshop. You could bring out the green in the water and leave the blue in sky this way. Also, adding some red would enhance the rocky features. Not a lot, just a little. I also would have lightened the shadow area a bit to bring out the detail there.

Your welcome! You did a great job! If you wanted to go a step further you could straighten this in camera raw. You would loose a little of the sides and bottom. If you loose too much, forget it. But I would give it a try. I hope you don't mind, I tried it. I used 8x10 cropping though, should have used 5x7 and it would have preserved the wide open space feel better.

The first thing I learned was getting the horizon level. The last Pic is the best.

And THANK YOU, for your service!
