Whatever this is, I intended to distort it into oblivion .... I merely wanted an image on which to try out some new filters(strangely enough from G'MIC (GIMP). Mission accomplished.
Why, it's barely distorted at all! Easy to tell it's a Crandall-Bateman Vinglewanger, the old model with the rotating delphon at the tip. The newer models have the delphon about a third of the way up from the dibbleport, so it's easier to attach the girket, as that was the most common complaint about the earlier models--the girkets were always breaking when they were attached. And you know how hard it was to find replacement girkets!
And, as anyone can tell you, a Vinglewanger with a broken girket certainly wasn't of much use.
But a beautiful piece, Bob. Love it!

Not at all. It reminds of my high school days, hanging around the old Vinglewanger repair shop after classes, learning the lingo, getting grease all over me as I got into it with both elbows, learning how to straighten a bent poprod, or wiggling a new girket into place (a common problem, but no easy task, let me assure you!) After I'd had some practice, they once even let me weld a busted seam on the Vinglewanger's fluxcapacitor and stop the leak of negative ions! While it was running!!!
Was I ever proud that day! The shop owner gave me an 'attaboy.' And he was hard-core, barely spoke above a grunt, except to yell at someone if they over-torqued a farkel bolt.
I wouldn't kid about something like that.
Probably.
But I'm not kidding about your image. I liked it a lot!

Treepusher, I could read you for hours on end and as much as I would like to continue the badinage, every once in a while I have to venture outdoors with a camera in hand to uncover more of these unheard-of inventions of yours. I truly appreciate the nimble dexterity and facile ease with which you weave your tapestries of the "other-world". Good on ya Mate!

Thank you Geezer. I can't tell you what it is, but it was running with rust. The rust patterns are what caught my eye in the first place.

Your post reminds me of the Farkel family with kids Mark and Sparkle Farkel.

Methinks dan, you're referring to the words of Treepusher, and not my photo.
Well now that I know what it is, I can leave an 'educated' comment, and here it is....I like it, Bob! :-D Love the colors and patterns.
