Can anyone suggest an online site for uploading photos for the purpose of purchasing high quality prints at affordable prices. I am an amateur photographer and I display my photographics in a home gallery

There are quite a few options. I think SmugMug and Zenfolio are in the top group for this sort of use.

You can use sites like Picasa Web Albums/Google+ to show off and allow friends to print images, but to sell them you need something more.

The sites listed above are good, but also look at http://fineartamerica.com

Bay Photo has very reasonable prices and a quick turnaround.

I have been very happy with Nations Photo Lab. Big difference from Walmart quality prints!!

I, and a number of pro's I hang out with, have SmugMug accounts.

BUT, these aren't for enticing the public to find your work and order. More like an online delivery of photo shoots.

Sites like 'deviant art', and Fine Art America would seem more like what you're looking for.

I do all my printing now through mpix.com. Add a few things to your cart, wait a day or too, and they'll email you with a 15% off reminder. Then add a bunch more stuff and buy it all at the discounted rate.

I use either MPIX or Nations Lab. Both are very good and frequently run specials.
