After 5 terrific days in San Francisco we caught the train to Santa Barbara. Loved the train, spent the whole trip in the viewing car. Posting a few taken from the train - so quality pretty dodgy, sorry. I tried to improve them in PP.

We passed this place, looked like a prison. Does anyone know? It was a few hours south of San Francisco.

Hi Koalaroo, that would be the San Luis Obispo Men's Colony in your photo. Yes, a prison in California.

Hi Chris, thanks. We caught a glimpse of a few people in orange garb sitting in the shade and thought it must have been a prison. I'd tried googling but didn't find anything. Now I know, thanks. Jude.

Daughter lives in Santa Barbara and it is always a good time visiting. Beautiful city but expensive.
