Antique WWI and WWII aircraft

These are from the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach. Almost all their aircraft are airworthy and are flown! They have restored aircraft from before WWI until just after WWII. All are beautifully restored.

There are American, British, and German aircraft on display.
Other items on display include a Messerschmidt (sp?) 2 seat car, a German 88mm anti-aircraft gun (it works!), and several land vehicles and, a quonset hut type hangar brought over from Germany and restored.

This is IMO well worth the visit.

They have 3 Fokker triplanes!

This is the only flying model in the world.

We go every couple years. They do have a turnover in aircraft though. They just sold about 10 to buy some new (old) stuff.

They have a "new" Messerschmidt (I think) that had crashed into a lake in Norway and was just found and recovered within the past couple years.

Is that a Mosquito in #2 ? I would love to get a shot of that girl flying. The P-51 "Double Trouble Two", flies with the Bermont Horsemen Aerobatic Team. Great shots thank you for sharing.

As I recall the mosquito (2) was all plywood and used in many special operations. A 2 man crew. Very fast for its time. Thanks for the great shots.

I don't know where they got it from but it hasn't been restored and they are not sure that they will restore it.
