I am considering up grading from Canon 7D to 6D. Comments have encreased my interest. Presently have 24-105 L series IS f/4 77, 70-200 f/2.8 L IS, 50 prime f/1.4 IS. And a 2x extender. What would u recommend?

My 24-105 is 9 yrs. old. Package at BH has option for new 24-105. Would u add a second 24-105. I intend on keeping my 7D as a back up.

Don't know what kind of photos interest you the most but for now just a 6D body and you are golden. Maybe an ultra wide or go for a piece of long glass for the 6D, depends on what you do.

I agree, just get the body, and figure out the lens needs later.

You will love your 24-105 on the 6D, I have that combination and it is seldom off the camera.

Just get the 6D, and certainly don't get another 24-105L. The one you have is fine (unless it's broken). Down the line, depending on what you shoot, decide on a lens to accommodate that. You'll have a terrific action body (7D) and a terrific portrait/ landscape body (6D), and a good all-purpose lens (24-105L). At some point, I might suggest the 135mm f2L. Terrific lens! :-D

You may want to consider either the 70-300mm L or the 100-400mm L on the longer end. I have the 70-300 and it does an excellent job but can't be used with extenders, I believe. I also have the 24-105mm L and the 24-70mm L. Both f/4. I prefer the 24-70mm. My 17-40mm L is a fine lens but I am considering selling it and buying the newly introduced 16-35mm L when it becomes available. Reportedly better optics plus IS. If you are looking for an excellent prime then check out the EF35mm f/1.4 L. An outstsnding lens. If I could only have one lens that or the 24-70 would be my choice.
Of course, what you shoot will largely dictate what lens you would want. Don't be quick to pay extra for fast glass until you learn what the 6D can do with high ISO. I was amazed at its capabilities. I would guess that for most people f/4 would be more then adequate unless additional DOF capability is needed.

I did the very same thing. I up graded from my 7D, to 6D. I did look to the future, and acquired full frame glass along the way. I now have all the lenses I may need for both cameras. I have the Tamron 24-70mm f2.8, VC, the Canon EF 70-200mm f4, IS, and the Tamron 150-600, VC. I'm now looking at the 16-35mm range. But, I still keep my 7D and use it for wildlife, and fast frames per second shots. Both cameras have their nitch, so I'll keep both, ready to go.

I have both cameras and use both cameras. Either one can be my primary at any one time. Both do a little differently and complement each other. As to the lens, I would probably keep it and get the second (if you can afford it). My logic behind this is very simple. The amount that you are paying for the lens in the kit (if it is on sale for about $1900) is about $600. A new lens is over a thousand dollars. You can always sell the lens as a white box (or the older lens for a little less) make a little extra money and then get the lens you really want. I have bought white box on Amazon and other sites and have been quite satisfied. You will love the camera,

I have all three of the lenses you mentioned. I just received my 6D 11 days ago. All three lenses work superb on my 6D. I also have a 7D. The difference in image quality is astronomical at the pixel level. I purchased the 50mm f/1.4 with the 6D. The 50mm is now my walk around. Awesome setup!
I also had plans to keep my 7D as a backup. I am now questioning my decision, since the 6D produces far better images.
BTW my 24-105mm f/4.0L is also at least 9 or 10 years old and still performs excellent, even better on the 6D.

When I got a full frame camera, the APS-C body was completely unused for six months, so I gave it to a family friend, who still uses it today. In the year+ when the full frame was my only camera, I never missed the APS-C.

I just ordered the 6D with a few additional items. My 7D extra battery will be comparable with the 6d. Ordered the toy package too. I will use the 7D for 8fps sports, also efs f/10 f/22 and beach exposures. Thank you ALL for your input!

You'll love it I'm sure, as much as I do.
