Tripod and monopod with same plate

Hi, I have a Manfrotto tripod with the 785 PL plate and would like to get a tilt head with that same plate to attach to my monopod. I have looked and cannot find this head that can be compatible to both tripod and monopod. Any suggestions for a reasonably priced tilt head that can fit both. Need one tilt head for monopod, and one ball head for tripod, but the plates should be the same to fit both.
Thanks.

If you are unable to find the other head, here is one option.

There are very limited options using any of the proprietary Manfrotto QR plates and platforms.

That's why I've converted everything to Arca-Swiss (including installing or replacing existing Manfrotto platforms with A-S platforms on some Manfrotto monopods and ballheads).

A-S stuff is more expensive... But you only buy it once and it's a lot more universal and versatile.

I agree with you completely. I made the SA switch when i bought a Kirk L bracket. Best thing I've done lately, the SA switch.

Was looking at monopods and heads and found a make called Oben which is pretty reasonable. So I could also find a tripod that matches the RP-20 plate. I like your suggestion, but it's expensive!

Actually, I found that Arca-Swiss 'compatible' stuff is considerably less expensive than 'Manfrotto compatible'.

Several manufacturers make A-S compatible QR plates. I think Induro is one, and Really-Right Stuff another. Both are fairly pricey. I think Vanguard also does. If so, their prices are likely lower.

I've gotten quite nice AS compatible plates and sockets from some of the far-east outfits, like Cowboy Studio (US but far-east manufacture) and MKStudio (Hong Kong). And they AREN'T PRICEY!

I recently bought a new tripod with an Arca-Swiss ballhead. I then ordered plates, etc. and now can use my cameras and a spotting scope on another triprod or another monopod. It's is very easy to convert them. If you are interested send me a PM or call me after 2:30 pm tomorrow. P hone # 406-899-0292. You can do this for under $50.00. It is very nice to be able to switch your cameras or lenses without having to change the plates constantly.
