The lighting and your choice of perspective captures both the delicateness and dimensionality of the blossom perfectly. A beautiful photo. Excellent job, CatMarley!

I am wearing this little XT1 around my neck a lot now - something I just couldn't do with the SLR. And I was sitting on my friend's porch just before sunset and noticed this hibiscus just over my shoulder with the late sun shining through it's translucent petals, and I just turned around and snapped it. This Fuji is so usable - not only because of the size, but something like the macro: it is a button you can click without looking. All of the controls are under your fingers, not buried in a menu. This camera is just so elegant in it's design and engineering. I am even getting to like the minimalist directional buttons that everyone complains about.

An excellent capture of the flower. However next time check out your background. The white blobs are too distracting from your wonderful flower.

I have an X-E2 from Fujifilm. I agree with you - these are wonderful walkaround cameras with hands-on controls.

It is sunlight reflecting through trees. No way you can get away from it and still have the afternoon natural light shining through the translucent flower petals. I like the nice bokeh of the background.

Cat, the flower is lovely, but all those white bokeh are distracting.

O.K. Here it is with heavy post processing. I think it spoils the context of the light, but that is my esthetic.
