We did not see Rose-breasted Grosbeaks in our yard until about six years ago.
Up to this year they have arrived during migration time, fed and rested for one or two days, and then moved on. This year they came in early May and have remained.
I would have preferred to have got the male in less contrasty light, but we take what we can get. We have not seen females for almost a week and presume they are starting a families in some nearby nests.

We are wondering where they have nested. There is a lot of bush around us and we have built some brush piles around the yard hoping this may provide them with some safe haven.
